It's TODAY!

Hi and welcome to our Discerning Marriage community! We are so glad that you are here!!!

We cannot believe this day has finally arrived! It's launch day!

It also happens to be the feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe - one of the patrons of Discerning Marriage. He was a Polish priest (much like another one of our patrons, Pope St. John Paul II), and he was an incredibly brave and bold servant of Jesus Christ whose self-sacrificial life culminated in the heroic exchange of his life for a fellow Auschwitz inmate.

In addition to his courageous martyrdom, the thing that stood out to us the most about St. Maximilian Kolbe was his organization called the Militia Immaculata (M.I.). He and a group of his friends started it, and he called a "global vision of Catholic life in a new form." The M.I. was meant to convert sinners and bring all to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and he used the most modern printing technology and frontline distribution techniques to get the word out about his army. He had started a radio station and he dreamed of starting a movie studio and using airplanes to distribute his literature!

While a website is hardly on the forefront of technology in 2018, we love that our boy Max utilized the latest and greatest communication methods to disseminate his message. We feel such a camaraderie with him in our use of the internet to attempt to do the same!

We are excited to have this website and blog, along with our Instagram (@discerningmarriage) to give you structure and support as you discern the vocation of marriage.

St. Maximilian Kolbe, pray for us!
